The story of why we created StampChat
I drive a lot. More than once I've kept driving with the fuel light on, passing petrol station after petrol station, until I found a Shell. Why? Because I hold their V+ loyalty card. I didn't want to lose out on the points.
That's when it hit me: loyalty programmes don't just reward customers, they influence behaviour. A good one can turn a five-minute decision into a five-kilometre detour.
I wanted to help small businesses achieve that same effect with their customers, without asking them to compromise on their products or service. All they needed was a simple loyalty system that didn't even require training. Something intuitive enough to just make sense the moment you used it.
A separate loyalty app for every business a customer visits was never going to work. So we built StampChat Wallet: one installable wallet that holds cards from every participating business. Customers sign in securely with WhatsApp or a verified email address, with no registration friction on either side.
Customers scan a QR code. Stamps are tracked automatically. Rewards trigger when they qualify. Business owners get real insights into who their regulars are, when they visit and who's at risk of churning.
We don't have all the answers. The business owners running StampChat every day do. They understand their customers far better than we ever could, so every update and every new feature starts with their feedback, not our assumptions.
We designed StampChat for small businesses where repeat customers are the lifeblood
See the same faces every morning? Reward them.
Where relationships and loyalty matter most.
Keep customers coming back for that shine.
Compete with big chains on customer loyalty.
Reward regulars across one branch or a whole chain.
If you run a business where customers should come back regularly but you don't have a simple way to reward them for it. StampChat is for you.
Customers add their StampChat wallet to their phone's home screen once, then use it across every participating business.
See who your top regulars are, when they visit and who's starting to slip away.
Pricing in Rands, built for South African budgets. No hidden fees, no contracts.
Setup takes under 5 minutes. If you can use a smartphone, you can run StampChat.
We're building the tools that big franchises use. They are accessible and affordable for local South African businesses.
Every café, salon and car wash deserves to know their customers as well as the chains do. We're making that possible, one visit at a time.
StampChat is proudly built in Cape Town. We started by understanding the local market and the challenges small businesses face here. We're building StampChat to grow with businesses well beyond South Africa too.
